(re)Assessments[edit]

Many of the articles in the project are films, silent films, and/or actors, which makes sense because the project began more as a film project. There are a lot of stub and start class articles among these, and it has been awhile since they were re-assessed. After some spot checking and finding some start and C class articles still listed as stubs, I think it's time to systematically go through the assessment list and re-evaluate. So far, I have gone through this list up to "G" on page 2. Since some of those have assessed as definitely start class (and a few as C), I think I may restart at the higher assessments and work down so I'm not duplicating articles (i.e. if starting at stub and reviewing all, any reassessments will come up in the list again when looking through start class, etc). But ultimately, they all need to have a look. ButlerBlog (talk) 16:37, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Continuing with re-assessments, I have been through every B and C article to confirm their assessment, and through high importance start and stub class articles. I've been alternating working through the mid importance stub and start articles, reassessing as needed. I have found a good deal of articles that were rated stub/start class that were B or even C class. Most of these were actor bios that were improved by many editors but never reassessed. I have also found some in the start class articles that really are stubs (and were still tagged as such), so those were downgraded. Still working through the list. When I finish the mid importance starts and stubs, I'll review the remaining low importance. ButlerBlog (talk) 21:44, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to the above, I have now looked at all mid-importance stub class articles for assessment, and am working through the remaining mid-importance start class articles. ButlerBlog (talk) 12:09, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Still working through the remaining mid-importance start class articles. The only articles remaining in that list are the ones that start with "The" (which is around 260). Incidentally, there have been quite a few that were most definitely stubs and had to be downgraded in assessment. ButlerBlog (talk) 16:28, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

At this point, all C-class articles have had a set of eyes verify assessment. Likewise, all high and mid importance start-class and stub-class articles have been reviewed for assessment and/or reassessment. I did not keep a count, but it seemed that there were a lot of articles assessed as start-class that were stub-class. At this time, I probably will not go through all of the remaining low importance stub/start class articles simply for assessment confirmation. For now, my next project is to get as many of the mid-importance stub-class articles as I can to assess as start class, and that's going to take awhile. I recently went through the Category:C-Class Westerns articles and Category:Start-Class Westerns articles with the autowikibrowser and cleaned up for articles that were classed as start or C that still had stub-tag templates on them. ButlerBlog (talk) 23:11, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Review of Space Westerns[edit]

A cursory look at Category:Space Western television series indicates that some of these are not tagged with the project banner (with the television task force parameter), and some of them may not necessarily be supported by article content as "actual" space westerns. When looking through these, if it's legitimately a space western and the article content supports that, make sure it has the project banner and task force. If it's improperly categorized, remove the category and, if it exists, the project banner. ButlerBlog (talk) 19:02, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am about to start slashing & burning[edit]

at List of Contemporary Westerns. There are far to many film that, to me, do not belong there, Dirty Harry and Gran Torino for a couple. I posted at the list but got no response, so I am posting here before leaping in. Carptrash (talk) 16:01, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lots of issues there, I agree. Intothatdarkness 17:55, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Carptrash: @Intothatdarkness: Responded at the article since it's specific to that article. ButlerBlog (talk) 18:05, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Butlerblog: That's where I started and got no response, so I decided to come here. Now back to the article. Carptrash (talk) 23:42, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
