Hello All... First, great idea! Now then, Have any questions? (at the bottom), why should I have to email questions? I feel I should be able to post them directly by using [edit source] so others will not have to ask the same questions and have the person who monitors this having to reply individually. The first question I have is, who owns the photos? I, for one, would be glad to donate a few photos to the cause if this was clearly addressed. For me, there is also a grey area where I am willing to grant Wikipedia exclusive rights under a non-commercial umbrella, yet retain my commercial rights to publish, sell and distribute.
- Thank you for your questions! Just to clarify, you can also ask questions here in addition to email. The general rule is that if you take a picture and you upload it to Wikimedia Commons, you still have the rights to the photograph but you agree to license its use to anyone, usually under a Creative Commons license. While you cannot contribute under a license that bans commercial use, you (as the copyright holder) would retain your right to use your pictures for commercial purposes.
