William G. Beasley
William Gerard Beasley CBE FBA (1919–2006) was a British academic, author, editor, translator and Japanologist. He was Emeritus Professor of the History of the Far East at the School of Oriental and African Studies of London University.[1]
Career
Beasley was appointed to a post in the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOASs) in 1957. He became Professor of the History of the Far East in 1954, a post he held until 1983.[1]
