William Mundy (14 September 1801 – 20 April 1877) was the son of Francis Mundy, a member of parliament for Derby. He was a Justice of the Peace, MP and, in 1844, High Sheriff of Derbyshire.

Biography

Mundy was the son of Francis Mundy a member of parliament for Derby. His sister, Constance, was married to William Henry Fox Talbot, the photographer.[2]

His sister, Laura, died on September 1 1842 in London.[3] In 1856 he was the President of Derby Town and County Museum and Natural History Society. The society's collection's grew and in 1856 they were first offered to the town by Mundy, but the offer was rejected.[4]
