Winter triathlon is a multisport event involving the continuous and sequential completion of running, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing, all on snow. Course distances are set on the day of the event to achieve a winning time of around 80–90 minutes, after taking account of the snow conditions.[1]

Alternatively, the sport can include skating instead of mountain biking.

The sport was denied inclusion in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.[2]
