Yash Dasgupta (born 10 October)[1] is an Indian actor and model. Dasgupta is best known for his roles in Bojhena Se Bojhena and Na Aana Is Des Laado.

Dasgupta won the Glam King title in the Unish Kuri Streax Glam Hunt held in Kolkata.[2] He is an entrant to the Calcutta times most desirable men.[3] He shifted his base to Mumbai to pursue career in acting and joined acting school, got his first break as actor in Television Industry. Yash said in an interview with TOI, "I attended an acting workshop at Roshan Taneja's acting school and worked in a few Hindi serials too."[4]

Early life and background

Yash Dasgupta was born to D. K. Dasgupta and Jayati Dasgupta. He is the only child of his parents. In his early childhood, he travelled all over India due to his parent’s transferable work.

He has lived in Delhi, Mumbai among others due to that he attended schools at different places. He is graduated from Madhya Pradesh. His interest in acting came from these formative years, when he was very fond of extracurricular activities. [4]

Career

Early career

Yash Dasgupta began his acting career in selective roles on national television. He played a fun loving son as Suraj Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi in Bandini (TV series) . A character with grey shades as Ketan Sanghvi in Basera (2009 TV series). He played the role of Karan (Santosh's son, Diya and Jhanvi's cousin brother), in Na Aana Is Des Laado, a story which dealt with the social evil of female infanticide, and concentrates on the problems faced by women in a male-dominated world. Yash did episodic roles as Viraj, a Mime Artist in Adaalat.[5] He also enacted Shri Krishna in a mythology called Mahima Shanidev kii. After Adaalat, he was on a lookout for meaty roles.

2013-present

Dasgupta is presently playing the popular role of Aranya Singha Roy with Madhumita Sarkar (Pakhi Ghosh Dastidar),in Bojhena Se Bojhena a young business tycoon, a remake in Bengali of the popular Hindi TV series Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? airs on Star Jalsha from 4th November,2013.[6]

Awards and appearances

Dasgupta had performed in award ceremonies like Colors Golden Petal Awards 2011, Telly Academy Awards 2014, which was held in Kolkata to felicitate the towering stalwarts of Bengal TV artists and artisans.He performed in Jaya Hey dedicated to Kolkata Police which was held in Kolkata.He anchored and performed for a popular Television Award night, as Aranya (ASR) in Bengal Star Jalsha Parivar Awards 2014.[7] He has won the best debutant, best actor and best juti in Tele Sanmaan Awards 2014 for the role Aranya Singha Roy in the Bengali mega serial Bojhena Se Bojhena in Star Jalsha.He has also won the best actor, in Telly Academy Awards 2015 in Star Jalsha.He performed "Ke Tui Bol" song in Telly Academy Awards.[8]

Personal life

Dasgupta is a movie-buff, and acting is his life. He loves to travel and being passionate about photography, he is a keen photographer. He is a sports enthusiast especially in adventure sports. He is a fitness freak, and has a liking for bodybuilding.[9][10][11] He is easy going and currently the most popular star of Bengali television.[12] [1]
