Youssoufia (Arabic: اليوسفية, Berber: ⵍⵢⵓⵙⵓⴼⵢⵢⴰ) is the capital of Youssoufia Province in Marrakesh-Safi, Morocco. According to the 2004 census it has a population of 64,518 and it is known for its phosphate production.[1]
The city was founded in 1931 by the French when they began to exploit the phosphate deposits of the Gantour basin.
