Yuan Weiwei (born November 25, 1985) is a Chinese football defender, who plays for Shandong Luneng in China Super League. He made the squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Club career

He started his professional career in 2003 playing as understudy to Wang Chao for the left-back position making numerous appearances off the bench as his replacement[1].

The 2008 China Super League season saw the prominance of Yuan Weiwei where he started 21 games establishing himself into the team[2].

International career

He made his senior debut for the national team in a friendly against the Jordan national football team in 2007, which China won 2-0.

Was eligible to play for the China national under-23 football team that took part in the Football at the 2008 Summer Olympics - Men's tournament where he played in two group games before being suspended for the third game, playing as first choice left-back for China[3].
