Template:Contains Korean text Yun Hyon-seok (hangul: 윤현석, August 7, 1984 - April 26[1] 2003) was a Gay writer and poet and a human right activists in South Korea. In 2003, he committed suicide in protest against South Korean Homosexuals Discriminations. Other names were Yunwudang(육우당, 六友堂, six friend's home) and nickname was Sulhun(설헌), Midong(미동, beautiful boy).
Life
Yun Hyon-seok was born in 1984, Bupyong, in Incheon.[2] he was born into a devout Roman Catholic family.[2] his real name was Hyon-seok, so he was want to open real name for him, but around opposed to can not reveal of his real name.[3] when he was a student, he was bullied and this led to his resingation from Incheon High School in 2002.[4]
He relied on Green tea, Foundation, Alcohol, Tobacco, Rosary, Sleeping pills. During his lifetime, he wrote under his pseudonym, Yukwudang (육우당[5]).
In his early years, he wrote poetry, prose and articles, his poetry and writing got rejected due to the social prejudice in South Korea. 10 years after his death in 2003, a collection of his work was published in 2013.
In 2002, he joined the[Korean Homosexual Rights Association]],[6] as a part time job. In 2003, he was working in the Korean Homosexual Rights Association, Gay rights, Sexual minorities rights and Human right movement's. In March, 2003, he was a Member of the Anti - War and Peace Movements and Conscientious objection to military service.[2].
In 2003, South Korean some conservative Christianity was pushing Legislation movement of prohibits homosexual and hate movement of Gay, Lesbian, Transgenders. so, Yun was leave suicide note for opposite Discrimination homosexuals,[7] In 26 April 2003, he was Suicide hang for door chains for him.
