Zain (زين ) and Zayn is an Arabic personal name meaning "beauty, grace".

There are other potential meanings for the masculine name Zain. Zayin, Zain and Zayn are all transcriptions for the seventh letter of the Hebrew alphabet (as well as other Semitic languages such as Aramaic and Phoenician). In fact, the Greeks took this letter from the Phoenicians for their own letter Zeta (Z). From this perspective Zayin or Zain means “seventh” in Hebrew. Lastly, Zain is merely an altered spelling of the name Zane borne famously by author Zane Grey (1872-1939) whose works idealized the American Old West.
