In February 2021, keyboarder Christian "Flake" Lorenz announced that a new album was in the works. He explained that, due to a lack of live performances, they had more time to think of new stuff which resulted in the "unscheduled" recording of new album.[1] In early March 2022, the band blanked their social media profiles.[2] They subsequently released a teaser saying "#ZEITkommt" with a date referring to 10 March 2022, as well as a countdown. The band then released the eponymous lead single on 10 March, accompanied by a six-minute video.[3] The album release will precede a European tour set to embark on 15 May 2022 in Prague.[4] The album is set to contain eleven tracks.[5] In a press release, the band announced that the album was recorded over the past two years in Southern France.[6] According to producer Sven Helbig, the album has been ready for a long time but was not ready for release due to supply chain shortages of booklets and covers.[7] The cover art shows the band standing on the stairs of the Trudelturm in Adlershof, Berlin. It was taken by Canadian musician Bryan Adams.[8]
