Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Caregiving and dementia do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.LeadSongDog (talk) 20:25, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Sandwich generation. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. --CliffC (talk) 22:28, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm... No intent to violate the principles here. We only wanted to let people know about our site which is meant to be a community resource for people facing the challenges of caregiving for people they love. And it seemed to us that some of the pages we posted on had links to similar resource sites. OurBigCircle (talk) 22:53, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I hear you, and I've started to clean up the worst of those pages, a never-ending task for the volunteers here. Based on your user name, you might want to take a look at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. I've added a "welcome" template below. --CliffC (talk) 00:47, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

  • Respect intellectual property rights - do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
  • Maintain a neutral point of view when editing articles - this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, doing so will result your account being blocked from editing.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!
