As major providers of professional and postgraduate education, Alliance universities work with over 25% of all UK students.[2]

University Alliance was formed in 2006 (adopting the name in 2007) to enable Alliance universities to excel within the policy, funding and regulatory framework in which they operate.

University Alliance was set up to bring together universities with government and business to to create innovative solutions to social and economic challenges. It is a policy centre delivering evidence-based policy and research in order to improve higher education policy; to benefit the economy and society[3].
