Circa Marine is an aluminium boat builder specialising in luxury marine fabrication based in Whangārei, New Zealand. The company manufactures aluminium and steel boats for both commercial and recreational purposes and is licensed to produce Naiad Inflatables.

History[edit]

Circa Marine is a family-owned and operated business established in 1977.[1] Their office is based in Whangārei, Northland, New Zealand.[2] The company manufactures aluminium and steel boats for commercial and pleasure clients[3] and is licensed to manufacture Naiad Inflatables. Their services extend to marine design, upholstery, interior installation, electrical work, and refits and repairs.[4]

The company is known for its luxury boats and superyachts, including the Mollymawk, which was shortlisted for the 2022 Motor Yacht Under 25 Metres Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards.[5] Circa Marine also manufactures Coastguard rescue boats and commercial vessels

Circa SXV40[edit]

Circa SXV 40 is a multipurpose vessel with capabilities as an explorer, support, or research vessel.[6] It features a total of eight cabins.

Circa 40m Explorer[edit]

Circa Marine released plans for the Circa 40m Explorer in June 2023.[7] A collaboration with Auckland-based yacht designer LOMOcean Marine, it is built from marine-grade aluminium and allows space for multiple watercraft and expedition vehicles, including miniature submarines. It features a helipad for personal helicopters.

Deo Juvante[edit]

Launched in 2022, Deo Juvante features twin MAN D2676 LE 424, developing over 500 horsepower each.[8] Latin for “with God’s help”, it features a kite sail which enables enhanced performance and fuel efficiency. Most materials onboard are recyclable as part of the explorer vessel’s low carbon footprint.

Iceberg[edit]

Iceberg is a 33.83-metre superyacht with an aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure.[9] It is powered by 2 John Deere engines and can accommodate up to eleven people in total.

Mollymawk[edit]

Mollymawk is a 25-metre motor yacht delivered in 2021.[10] Powered by two Scania diesel engines, it has three staterooms for a total of six guests. Mollymawk was shortlisted for the Motor Yacht Under 25 Metres Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2022.

Grey Wolf II[edit]

Grey Wolf II is a motor yacht delivered in 2017.[11] It is available for charter within West Nautical locations, including Iceland and Norway.

Waikare II[edit]

Waikare II is a 17.5-metre catamaran designed and built for the Northern Regional Council.[12][13] It is purpose-built to operate as a pilot vessel, oil spill response vessel, and to carry out salvage and dive operations
