Estado (Spanish: [esˈtaðo], Portuguese pronunciation: [(ɨ)ʃˈtaðu], Portuguese pronunciation: [esˈtadu], Galician: [esˈtaðo]) is a Spanish, Portuguese and Galician term that, like its English counterpart "state", may refer to a federal state or an entire country (sovereign state).
