Ilishevsky District (Russian: Или́шевский райо́н; Bashkir: Илеш районы) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the fifty-four in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the republic and borders with Krasnokamsky District in the north, Dyurtyulinsky District in the east, Chekmagushevsky District in the southeast and south, Bakalinsky District in the southwest, and with the Republic of Tatarstan in the west. Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Verkhneyarkeyevo.[3] Population: 34,654 (2010 Russian census);[3] 36,281 (2002 Census);[7] 36,046 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Verkhneyarkeyevo accounts for 28.0% of the district's total population.[3]

The district was established in 1935.[2]
