James Schine Crown (born June 25, 1953)[1] is an American businessman and heir. He is president of Henry Crown and Company, a private investment company. He is a director of JPMorgan Chase & Co., General Dynamics and Sara Lee as well as being the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the University of Chicago.

Crown is the son of billionaire Lester Crown and Renée Schine. He is the sister of Susan Crown. He is Jewish. It is believed his family holds ownership in the Aspen Skiing Company and in the Rockefeller Group.

He earned a BA from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1976 and a law degree from Stanford Law School in 1980.
