People of this town really don't tend to work under anyone, instead they chose a business(small scale industries) few to name would be (Milk cova manufacturing, Nippets(fried biscuits), puffed rice, oil mills & milk dairies) interesting part of this town is people here always love celebrations & festivals, the 2 biggest festivals are pongal & maha shivarathri, shiv rathari is cleberated for two days & 2nd day event is popularly known as angalamman thiruvila pulls the crowds from the surrounding villages too the event starts in the morning with people getting pierced there cheeks, tongue & back with a trishul or vel, at around twelve in the noon comes the unexpected that's the kali mathas people dressed up as kallis start to dance (rudhra thandavam) at the temple this dance is very aggressive kallis carry weapons like knife & trishul which is dangerous to people around them who try to take a glimpse of there dance by then the chariot from the temple stats moving towards the river near by, they all reach the river ans the festival ends.
