Ralik Chain
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ralik Chain (Marshallese: Rālik, /rˠaɦʲlʲɨk/ or [r̴ɑ͡ææ̯li͡ɯk][1]) is a chain of islands within the island nation of the Marshall Islands. Ralik means "sunset". It lies just to the west of the country's other island chain, the Ratak Chain. As of 1999[update], the total population of the Ralik islands is 19,915.[citation needed]
Christopher Loeak, who would become President of the Marshall Islands in 2012, served as Minister for the Ralik Chain in an earlier part of his political career.
