Ricardo Antonio "Ricky" Rosselló Nevares (born March 7, 1979 in Puerto Rico) is a post-doctoral neuroscience and tissue engineering researcher in the lab of Erich Jarvis at Duke University.[1] He is also involved in politics and political commentary in Puerto Rico. Rosselló was an active campaigner as vice-chairperson for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign in Puerto Rico[2] and was elected a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention from the Bayamón senatorial district.[3][4] There has been frequent speculation in the press about him running for elective public office in Puerto Rico.[5][6][7][8] He is immersed in a grass-roots educational campaign favoring statehood for Puerto Rico, [9] suggesting that involvement of the international community may be necessary for the United States government to take action. [10]

He is a political commentator who currently writes a regular column for El Vocero, a daily newspaper published in San Juan, on topics including politics, science, healthcare and the economy.

Rosselló Nevares is the youngest son of Pedro Rosselló, former Governor of Puerto Rico and his wife Maga Neváres de Rosselló.
