SM Hypermarket is a chain of hypermarkets in the Philippines, started by the Sy family in the late 1990s.[1]

There are now fifteen hypermarkets in the chain, most of which are still in Metro Manila. The company began to invite fresh food stall concessionaires to operate in the hypermarket's fresh market section. Fresh meat, seafood, fruits, and vegetables are sold directly to the customers.[1]

The stores also include a chicken rotisserie stall, a bakery stall and a restaurant called "Taste Asia".[1]

As of May 15, 2010, 4 Makro Stores have been converted to SM Hypermarket with the first branch outside Metro Manila was opened in Iloilo City on October 23, 2010.

The Mabalacat Branch of Makro was closed and reopened as SM Hypermarket on December 7, 2010.

The Sucat Branch of Makro was closed and reopened as SM Hypermarket in 2012.

The Alabang Zapote Road Branch of Makro was closed and reopened as SM Hypermarket last March 29, 2012.
