SM Hypermarket is a chain of hypermarkets in the Philippines started by the Sy family in the late 1990s.[1]

Currently there are fifteen hypermarkets in the chain, most of which are located in Metro Manila, where the hypermarket holds fresh food stall concessionaires operating in its fresh market section, selling directly to customers fresh meat, seafood, fruits, and vegetables.[1]

The stores also include a chicken rotisserie stall, a bakery stall and a restaurant called "Taste Asia".[1]

As of May 15, 2010, 4 Makro stores in the Philippines have been converted to SM Hypermarket stores: the first SM Hypermarket branch outside Metro Manila opened in Iloilo City on October 23, 2010; on December 7, 2010, the Mabalacat branch of Makro closed and reopened as SM Hypermarket; the Sucat-East Service Road branch of Makro also closed and reopened as an SM Hypermarket store in 2012; while the Alabang-Zapote Road branch of Makro closed and reopened as an SM Hypermarket store on March 29, 2012.
