Shōnai (庄内町 Shōnai-machi) is a town located in Higashitagawa District, Yamagata, Japan. It was created by the merger of the towns of Amarume and Tachikawa in 2005.
As of 2005, the town has an estimated population of 24,921 and the density of 249.26 persons per km². The total area is 99.98 km².
Shonai Airport is located in the nearby town of Sakata.
