Syncopy Films is the production company of filmmaker and director Christopher Nolan and his wife and co-producer Emma Thomas. The name Syncopy Films derives from "syncope", the medical term for fainting or loss of consciousness.[1]
History
In 2005, Syncopy Films partnered with Legendary Pictures to produce Batman Begins (2005), The Prestige (2006), The Dark Knight (2008), Inception (2010), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012) for Warner Bros. Pictures. Future films produced by Syncopy Films include Zack Snyder's Man of Steel (2013), and the directorial debut of Wally Pfister in 2014. Christopher Nolan will return to the director's chair for his newest film Interstellar (2014); the film will be produced by Paramount and Warner Bros., through Christopher Nolan's and Emma Thomas's Syncopy Films and will be released on November 7, 2014, with Paramount handling US distribution and Warner Bros. handling international distribution.
