Infobox[edit]

@Dhruv edits: It doesn't make any sense that only three major parties shall be shown , I think Wikipedia is allowing more
So UDP, PDF and BJP shall be in infobox as being major party see 2022 Northern Ireland Assembly election WikiEdits2003 (talk) 11:18, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also even Hill State People's Democratic Party shall also be included WikiEdits2003 (talk) 11:20, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@WikiEdits2003 Hundreds of political parties contest elections in India. All of them cannot be added to infobox. Only major parties for the particular election (which are backed by reliable sources) are added to infobox and candidates section. Please see recent election articles of Indian states as well as 2018 Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election. Also see WP:NOTEVERYTHING.
Since the elections are more than 2 months away, major parties could change based on what reliable sources are reporting while covering these elections. Once election schedule is announced and other parties start naming candidates, more clarity will be available regarding major contenders for the election. Dhruv edits (talk) 11:42, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
WP:NOTEVERYTHING doesn't mean only three or your personal choice
See latest 2022 Northern Ireland Assembly election
And Above mentioned parties are major parties see their Voting percentage seats and influence in the state, also in last election AITC was at 0.40% but this time it has influence that's why it is included
Give Reference that only three parties shall be included not other four
WikiEdits2003 (talk) 12:58, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@WikiEdits2003 It is not based on my person choice but accepted practice on Indian election pages as well as consensus at Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian politics/Election: Article structure. The three parties added are 3 biggest parties in the state based on last election and/or current seats. If reports emerge from WP:RS that state any of these 3 is not a major contender, then it can be removed as well. Similarly, reliable sources are needed to add a party that is reported as a major contender to win the election. You need to provide reliable sources that claim that such a party is a contender to win the election and form next govt. Dhruv edits (talk) 14:32, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For UDP[1] WikiEdits2003 (talk) 15:31, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

UDP is major contender see past result too And there is no criteria for adding only three your choiced big contender WikiEdits2003 (talk) 15:33, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And rules also applies to you give references that why only NPP INC and AITC shall be added ? WikiEdits2003 (talk) 15:34, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For BJP [1]
[2]
[3] WikiEdits2003 (talk) 15:40, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For Congress [4] WikiEdits2003 (talk) 15:43, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For HSPDP [5] WikiEdits2003 (talk) 15:44, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All the possible links are enough to say these parties are major contender although more than your setted criteria of 3 party WikiEdits2003 (talk) 15:46, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian politics/Election: Article structure says that major contender shall be added not only 3 it came 2,3,4 etc As per my understanding of Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian politics/Election: Article structure these parties shall be there in infox INC NPP UDP PDF HSPDP BJP all are major parties Or
It's very earlier to say which party shall be in infox ?? Or
add those party which currently have seats in Assembly WikiEdits2003 (talk) 15:51, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also these four parties are also Part of current Government in Meghalaya state therefor shall be added and it's not a mere fact
Add these parties too and by reverting Good faith edit is not suitable to make your point Don't Revert or remove any information untill consensus reached WikiEdits2003 (talk) 16:26, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  1. ^ UDP declared candidate

INC Candidates[edit]

Anyone please add congress candidates. (https://thenewsmill.com/2022/12/congress-clears-40-names-for-2023-meghalaya-election/) XYZ 250706 (talk) 14:14, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

TMC Candidates[edit]

Anyone please add tmc candidates (https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1611318710421303296?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1611318710421303296%7Ctwgr%5E739766111801277c78fac34fdcff3bded20e1ec1%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.punjabkesari.in%2Fnational%2Fnews%2Fmeghalaya-assembly-elections-2023-tmc-released-the-first-list-of-candidates-1747093). Alliance[edit]

There is no Alliance between parties. So in the "Parties & Alliances " section then why it shouldn't be merged in single table? Mahesh Chhanga 78 (talk) 07:18, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Divisions[edit]

Are Tura and Shillong Oficial division of state ?? Dhruv edits WikiEdits2003 (talk) 18:19, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If not then it's better not to show any divisions WikiEdits2003 (talk) 18:25, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Both are Lok Sabha Constituencies of the state not division in my knowledge WikiEdits2003 (talk) 18:27, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@WikiEdits2003 Regions are undefined and unofficial subdivisions of states, and shouldn't be added since no reliable sources provide information on which constituency comes under which region. Same approach was undertaken for 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election after discussion on talk page.
Divisions are official subdivisions of states in India, and List of divisions in India shows Meghalaya has 2 divisions. Dhruv edits (talk) 21:36, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Links you have put there isn't showing Meghalaya has two divisions WikiEdits2003 (talk) 03:25, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@WikiEdits2003 It shows 2 divisional commissioners. Dhruv edits (talk) 04:11, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Results[edit]

Hello @Mahesh Chhanga 78:. Thanks for adding the results of the elections. Could you add the source you used, though? So that the result table can be updated and completed. Cordially. Aréat (talk) 16:25, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Aréat Added the reference. Dhruv edits (talk) 23:13, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
