There are too many Adlams in the UK to claim that the family are either military or originally from Wiltshire. Adlam's farm and Adlam's lane are both in Sway on the edge of the New Forest. Adlams from this area are foresters and small holders who only went to war when forced to or duped into it through propoganda.
G'day sports. As one of the Adlams of Melbourne I would like to confirm that we Adlams are generally good at holding small things, and that I am on the small side (stub-class, true, but low importance, never!). Sadly I never been to Adlam's lane or Adlam's farm. I am told I have a dashing military moustache in between my visits to the beautician.
