Cold War section

[edit]

I think this paragraph:

" EDIT: 12 AF Hqs was located in downtown Waco and was in NO way either adjacent to, nor associated with, James Connally AFB. Connally AFB was an ATC base dedicated to Navigator Training. 12th AF Hqs was located in a converted Catholic school off of Waco Dr. in downtown Waco. Any reference to any association with JCAFB is erroneous. SOURCE: personal experience. MY father was in the Inspector General's office of 12th for four years fro 1958-1962."

is not proper, and should be removed, or at least rewritten. --Filippof (talk) 11:49, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(I have hided out the paragraph, by HTML "comment" tag.)

Propose Rename to: Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern)

Has the assessment of the response to this proposal changed given that the real function is now AFSOUTH and no one at the command really seems to refer to it as 12th Air Force anymore. Bemcfarland (talk) 01:00, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notable Commanders

[edit]

Recommend adding Gen Tod D. Wolters, current SACEUR and EUCOM Commander, to the list of notable commanders. Full disclosure -- I do have a conflict of interest in that I work for EUCOM, but offer this suggestion for your consideration. 84.133.44.103 (talk) 13:11, 28 June 2022 (UTC) William Speaks[reply]

Air Force Component Command Reorganization

[edit]

Does the article need to be updated to reflect the new role and higher headquarters, along with the reassignment of all subordinate unit responsibilities except for the air and space operations center? AFSOUTH was, I think, reorganized in September and is now solely dedicated to serving as the AFCC for USSOUTHCOM and no longer has ACC as its higher headquarters.
