Requested move 27 March 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: consensus not to move the pages at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 18:22, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

– per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Of all the Serbians with the this name, it's the footballer who is the most notable. The page views analysis ([[1]]) would back up this fact, as does the Google News hits. APM (talk) 12:02, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose no absolute topic here in GBooks. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:58, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Every disambiguation page has someone who is more notable than others, but most dab pages don't have primary topics. No indication that the footballer is of such overriding fame that he should engulf the other three same-named men.    Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 21:55, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Unnecessary. Hhhhhkohhhhh (talk) 11:43, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - no PRIMARYTOPIC. GiantSnowman 12:57, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - no clear primary topic, but if there was one, I would suggest the Mitrovic who was Deputy and acting Prime Minister of Serbia is probably more notable. Fenix down (talk) 08:35, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Requested move 4 September 2020[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved based on the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC guidelines over the essay. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:21, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

– clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC based on page views [2] Joeykai (talk) 05:23, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note: The first target "new" title is a disambiguation page with content and so must also be moved to make way for the rename of this article. This request has been modified to reflect that fact. P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 07:21, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per previous discussion, not a PRIMARYTOPIC and page views do not indicate notability (see Wikipedia:Pageviews and primary topics). GiantSnowman 14:56, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Were this a borderline case it would be one thing, but it looks like this page has been the clear intended target for almost 100 percent of readers looking for the name, and has been for a little while now.--Yaksar (let's chat) 19:30, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 01:25, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. None of the namesakes on the disambigation pages comes even close to the same notability level. No such user (talk) 12:51, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Pageviews are not the be-all and end-all. Long-term significance is just as if not more important. And one of those on the list was acting prime minister of Yugoslavia! -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:50, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Necrothesp I'm old enough to clearly remember events from 1991-1992 and I don't remember that acting prime minister. He was apparently a politically appointed deputy who briefly overtook the role after Ante Marković was forced out of the office, and it all happened in the turmoil of the breakup so he had no time to do anything worth remembering. He fell into public oblivion soon afterwards. Length of his article tells a lot; he does not even have an article on Serbian wiki, (sr:Александар Митровић (политичар) is a redlink). I'm having hard time finding anything substantial about him. So, despite the nominal position he held, his long-term significance is low even when compared with other namesakes. No such user (talk) 13:18, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I agree with the above --FootyMessi9147 (talk) 06:11, 9 September 2020 (UTC) FootyMessi9147 (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. [reply]

Importance of 35th goal?[edit]

A series of recent edits have specifically noted Mitrović's 35th goal of the season against Swansea. But he broke the league record with his 32nd goal, setting a new record with each league goal thereafter. Even though he sits on 35 league goals as of this writing, the season is not over, so the fact that he is "the first ever player to reach 35 goals" in a season is irrelevant. Does anyone else have an opinion about this, as I have had to revert edits related to this twice now. Anwegmann (talk) 21:33, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the 35th goal as significant/important whereas 32 goals is as the record breaker. That should not be included unless that is his final goal of the season, which I don't think that will be the case. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:55, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
