Nocebo[edit]

I think the fact that Nocebo is in the Related area is unappropriate, and it should be removed

revisions[edit]

I added the text of the story, using the American Standard Version text, as it appears to be public domain. As such, the section "The Lie" was redundant, as it told the story, and I removed it.

Also I added a small section "Meaning". The story came to my attention when a friend heard it as a reason not to be dishonest in a Bible study group and told me about it.--Andymussell 19:58, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Strictly accurate...[edit]

"They agreed to give a certain proportion of the money to the apostles, but to say that it was the whole amount." I don't see anything in the Bible implying that they said to Peter that they were giving the whole value of their land. Tone of article?[edit]

The tone of the last paragraph here doesn't seem strictly neutral. The idea that Ananias and Sapphira were forced to sell their property isn't a certainty based on the text alone. Allegations against Saint Peter[edit]

I have read certain allegations against Saint Peter, namely that Ananias and Sapphira did not merely die on the spot, but were actually killed by Peter's order. Even though there is probably no way to prove this allegation, it still stands out as one of the possibly controversial interpretations of this passage.
