The result of the move request was: Moved to X.. Consensus on the alternate proposed titles: 1973 Australian incomes referendum, 1973 Australian price control referendum, 1906 Australian senate elections referendum and 1928 Australian state debts referendum – robertsky (talk) 14:58, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
- 1973 Australian referendum (Incomes) → 1973 Australian referendum on incomes
- 1973 Australian referendum (Prices) → 1973 Australian referendum on prices
- 1906 Australian referendum (Senate elections) → 1906 Australian referendum
- 1928 Australian referendum (State debts) → 1928 Australian referendum
– The current article titles contain what appears to be a capitalized disambiguation term. Disambiguation is not necessary for the 1906 and 1928 referenda. The capitalization also doesn't seem appropriate. See also 1973 Australian referendum, which is an article about the pair of 1973 referenda. See {{Australian elections}} for the list of referenda, among which only these four contain the parenthetical phrases. Perhaps the second one would be better as 1973 Australian referendum on price controls or 1973 Australian referendum on price control (singular). — BarrelProof (talk) 21:35, 1 April 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. - Support all - I don't see a need for the capitalisation, seems unnecessary. I'd prefer to see 1973 Australian referendum (Prices) moved to 1973 Australian referendum on price control, since "prices" is a little vague, though I'm satisfied with the proposed title. Not sure why the 1906 and 1928 referenda were moved initially. Bandit Heeler (talk) 05:20, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support per WP:Disambiguation GMH Melbourne (talk) 13:00, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- The first two proposed titles aren't in line with WP:NC-GAL, the naming convention for referendum articles – they should be 1973 Australian incomes referendum and 1973 Australian prices referendum (although I agree that 1973 Australian price controls referendum would be better). This would also mean they are in line with other Australian referendum articles like 1916 Australian conscription referendum, 1999 Australian republic referendum, 1948 Australian rents and prices referendum, 1951 Australian Communist Party ban referendum, 2023 Australian Indigenous Voice referendum etc. I would also suggest the latter two be 1906 Australian Senate elections referendum and 1928 Australian state debts referendum so that the subject is explained. - Move to 1973 Australian incomes referendum, 1973 Australian price controls referendum, 1906 Australian Senate elections referendum and 1928 Australian state debts referendum per #57. — Amakuru (talk) 22:14, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support alternative per Amakuru except controls to control and Senate to senate. Natural disambiguation is preferred per WP:NC-GAL. Price control was to be divested to the Commonwealth. The singular (control) would appear to be more appropriate for the proposed title. The 1906 referendum was in respect to senate elections - not using a formal title that might require capitalisation. - Relisting comment: looking for any further comment on controls vs control or Senate vs senate Bensci54 (talk) 17:01, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support Cinderella157's version. These should have reader-sensible WP:NDESC (neutrally descriptive) titles, since they don't have demonstrable most-common names, but they should not use longer word-forms than necessary (WP:CONCISE) and not inject unnecessary capitalization (MOS:CAPS, WP:NCCAPS). — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 21:54, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support Amakuru–Cinderella157 version with lowercase "senate". No strong opinion on "controls" v. "control". — BarrelProof (talk) 02:59, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
Unsuitable image
[edit]The map image in the top infobox should display red in all states considering the article goes on to say that this referendum gained a majority in no states.
I have tried to update the image but there were details on the map editor that this was created with that I am confused with such as those publishing details when completing creation, I also don't know the exact shade of red I should use as more recent referendums (such as in 2023) use a darker variation of red for more or less no votes.
