general Comments[edit]

I watch a neighbor with this plant - and it is >20 years. Unknown how big or small the original plant was. By mid summer it is 4 to 5 feet tall and 4 to feet wide. Low requirement for water. In other locations I have read some nicknames for this like concrete foot or lead-foot. From the very deep roots. I have some small plants taken from the neighbor- and yet digging it up was HARD. Recommend late fall to cut it all the way back to ground level. Also recommend if you have a large plant to place a stake and tie it up, otherwise it flops over. Toxicity[edit]

The portions on this plants toxicity can be expanded. Some people have been getting poisoned due to the fact that Baptista looks like asparagus in its juvenile stages.[1]

Long time reader, but I'm new to actually editing Wikipedia. I figured it'd be safer to start out in the talk sections. I'd appreciate any advice on getting started and/or someone with more experience expanding this article.

Good information (amazing what people will eat!). I've gone ahead and added that. It would be good to find something about what chemicals are involved, if such information exists. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 13:46, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
