Fairness of this election?[edit]

The Wikipedia article on Getulio Vargas describes this election as "rigged". Apparently this claim was part of the military's justification for installing Vargas as dictator later in 1930. This claim should be addressed, preferably by someone more knowledgeable than I am concerning it, in the article on the 1930 election, and if it it is dubious, that should be noted in the article on Vargas rather than describing the elections as "rigged". — Preceding unsigned comment added by MorphismOfDoom (talkcontribs) 10:30, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Revised results[edit]

@EdgarCabreraFariña: None of the three sources you added when changing the results are accessible or confirm the figures you added. The first website is dead and is not on the web archive. The second does not seem to contain the figures for other candidates or invalid votes (or the search doesn't work), and the third does not contain the numbers at all. It looks like you may have just copied this over from pt.wiki without checking the sources yourself? There are some TSE figures published, but they don't say how many candidates received only one vote (it would need to be 3,456 candidates receiving one vote for your numbers to be correct). Please can you provide a verifiable source for the numbers? Cheers, Number 57 00:36, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@EdgarCabreraFariña: Again, the sources you have added do not support the number of votes for other candidates or the invalid votes (which I have removed). Please provide a source for the 3,550 other votes. Thanks. Number 57 21:04, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
