In similar articles where there is a measurable stretch of a State or US route that is locally significant, there is a subsection pertaining to the named portion in the numbered route's article. If part of the task of Wikipedia is to reduce the fragmentation of info, it seeems that merging Cermak Road into the IL 56 article makes sense. Particularly given that unlike Roosevelt or Ogden -- which are consistently named where they run through the Chicago area -- IL 56 isn't called Cermak in all Chicagoland municipalities. Thoughts?
