Twitter[edit]

Are we allowed to use Twitter as a reference? I've certainly never heard of this. I might look for an alternative if there's one about. TheRetroGuy (talk) 16:53, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth[edit]

While I'm here someone added a date of birth a couple of weeks ago as 18 May 1975 which another user promptyl removed. Not sure whether this is correct, but I am told that it was mentioned on Sky News on that morning (18 May) that it was her birthday. Can anyone help here? Perhaps someone can consult the GRO? TheRetroGuy (talk) 16:53, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it due to it being unverifiable. Thousands of people may have witnessed her say it on TV, but that doesn't make for a reliable or verifiable source. Would a link to a clip on youtube be acceptable? I was meaning to ask. magnius (talk) 17:01, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. People add a lot of dates to this and that and most of them seem to be unverified. Not sure about YouTube. Someone has added a YouTube link to her presenting Five News so it might be all right. Would be better if someone with access could consult the public records though. I'm sure her birth would be registered. TheRetroGuy (talk) 17:11, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just had a quick look on Youtube but can't find anything at present. Going offline for a bit now. Will have a better look a bit later on. TheRetroGuy (talk) 17:16, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Before I go though, on her Twitter page on 18 May she does thank people for all the birthday tweets she's received. Looks like it was her birthday. We just need to find a ref to back it up. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 17:25, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Back again. I found this on YouTube, but the conversation appears to suggest her birthday was the previous day (17 May). Holmes also asks if her birthday is on Wikipedia, which she says it is, suggesting the information at the time was right (i.e., 1975). I'll add the video as a reference, and hope someone finds a more reliable one. Any problems and it can be removed again. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 19:57, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Added ref. It's a bit tenuous, but hopefully something better will come along. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 20:05, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
