Other Coningsbys[edit]

Another Coningsby is a book by Benjamin Disraeli. --Oop 22:08, July 25, 2005 (UTC)

Wording[edit]

"It is overseen by the impressive tower of its 15th century parish church, ‘St Michael's’ with its unique one-handed clock face. One of the few in the country (there is another at St Andrew's in Holt, Norfolk), it is thought to be the largest in the world." - If there's several more of these clocks, even if this is the most impressive, can we really use the word unique? No; nor does it make sense to say "One of the few in the country (there is another at St Andrew's in Holt, Norfolk)". Obviously there is another, presumably several others, to make up "a few". Afterbrunel (talk) 13:57, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Record temperature[edit]

Asking this rather than start an edit war: Surely the previous record temperature was the 40.2C at Heathrow that same day, not the 2019 record? OGBC1992 (talk) 17:04, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps "previous" needs to be interpreted to mean "on an earlier date" because otherwise we could have an unmanageable flurry of hundreds of records being set and broken on the same day, which would be particularly daft when it can take a week or so for temperature measurements to be properly reported and validated.
