Whoever wrote this article doesn't seem to realise that some Welsh people might not be very flattered as being described as part of "England"! --MacRusgail (talk) 00:34, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article does not describe Wales as being part of England.GordyB (talk) 12:58, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Quote from the article - "See main articles: History of English cricket to 1696, 1697 to 1725 English cricket seasons, Overview of English cricket 1726 - 1815, English cricket in the 18th century, Overview of English cricket 1816 - 1918" - I rest my case! (Well not quite, the article didn't mention that there's an ongoing campaign for Wales to have its own cricket team, until I mentioned that - although one has played a few times in the past - or the fact that being referred to as "English cricket" might be as jarring to some Welsh ears, as real English cricket being referred to as "Australian") --MacRusgail (talk) 23:17, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that whilst there are articles on English cricket to link to, there aren't any similar Welsh articles and to date the English articles are the only reference that might mention Welsh cricket.GordyB (talk) 17:28, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As there is now the beginnings of an independent history section and the links to the English historical articles have been removed, I don't think the POV tag is really needed. I am removing it.GordyB (talk) 19:04, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
