Dan Harmon is not a freestyle rapper[edit]

There have been several disruptive edits (presumably by a singular user: User talk:64.245.52.2, User talk:66.68.191.144) to incorrectly state that Harmon is a freestyle rapper. The links he provides for support lead to a reddit.com forum, a tumblr search page, and a preview of Harmon's documentary where it mentions he freestyle rapped at some of his podcasts. There is no indication that he has been freestyling other than select occasions on his comedy podcast, Harmontown. Please help find credible support for this assertion; otherwise, stop the disruptive edits which will lead to higher level warnings and being reported.

He freestyle raps on nearly every single episode of his live show+podcast Harmontown, and his rapping has been featured on Rick & Morty as well (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIbkG_afKv0). Why doesn't he count as a freestyle rapper? FranklinGriffen (talk) 04:48, 27 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dan Harmon has freestyle rapped on his live podcast several hundred times. "Select occasions" is an absurd choice of words to describe this. By any objective measure, Dan Harmon is a freestyle rapper. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:30A:C0F4:8300:E9AF:9C53:5181:5B70 (talk) 16:30, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Unless Harmon is known for his freestyle rapping, it's inaccurate of us to refer to him that way. See WP:DUE. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 16:35, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
He is "known for" his freestlye rapping. That's what happens when you freestyle hundreds of times on a public platform. Here's a source https://deadline.com/2018/07/rick-morty-community-creator-dan-harmon-to-exec-produce-comedy-rap-album-1202426985/ Here's another source https://www.inverse.com/article/47183-rick-and-morty-dan-harmon-producing-concept-album
Both sources clearly state that Dan is known for freestyle rapping.
Um, no, neither states that. You know that people who argue with you on the internet are all, by definition, able to read, right? I just read those articles, and both mention that he has done some rapping on his podcast in passing. Neither says that he is "known for his freestyle rapping" and there is not an article anywhere that says anything like "You may know Dan Harmon for his freestyle raps, but did you know he also created an animated TV show?" ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 17:00, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"a reference to one of the many freestyle rap bits Dan Harmon does on Harmontown." "Dan Harmon co-hosts the Harmontown podcast with Jeff Davis, on which Harmon often busts out joke-filled freestyle raps." While these do not explicitly state that Dan is 'known for' freestyle rapping, they do demonstrate the author's awareness of Dan as a person who regularly performs freestlye raps for an audience, or in other words, a freestyle rapper.

Untitled[edit]

Both Schrab and Harmon are extremely notable, if flying spaghetti monster gets a page, these two deserve one each. They have created an internet community that is extremely powerful outside as well. It is ridiculous that people would desire to see this article deleted. Yanksox 03:47, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Harmon also takes part in a podcast with Dino Stamatopoulos on The Steve Dahl Podcast Network. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charlville (talkcontribs) 22:12, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wait...so was he fired? If so shouldn't it be cited somewhere??

Striven?[edit]

In one of the promo videos, Harmon says that his inspiration for the series was his time at GLENdale Community College. Moreover, he says this was b/c he was "too striven" in his earlier years to go to college, so he finally went to community college at age 32.

What's the deal? Just being sarcastic? I was very surprised to come to this page and see that he attended a real college, presumably during the normal college years. I was fully expecting it to say he was an actor/stand up comic in his 20s, with no college at all until said Glendale. 173.9.95.217 (talk) 14:15, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Delete "Story Embryos" and "Cameo's" Sections[edit]

These sections just seem so unnecessary. I'm going to delete them. Wikipediman23 (talk) 05:11, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah yeah whatever, anyway, it seems he might have a sort of Cameo in knight of cups I hear.

"Joey Ramone" middle names?[edit]

Does anyone have a reference for his middle names being "Joey Ramone"? I can't find any that aren't just copied from Wikipedia.

I find it odd that he was born in '73 and the Ramones were formed in '74 (Joey Ramone wasn't ever known as such until that point). Hjfreyer (talk) 12:52, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree agree. I'm going to be WP:BOLD and remove until a soruce is provided.Martinlc (talk) 14:45, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Whiting Wongs[edit]

Should his podcast along with fellow Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao also be mentioned on this page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.48.192.105 (talk) 11:13, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

4chan "alt-right"[edit]

How is the fact that he was "targeted" by "alt-right" users of 4chan even relevant? I've never seen the words "x was targeted by Twitter progressives" on other pages with similar incidents, despite that being factually correct and their attacks being far more vitriolic. It's just extraneous detail that is a blatant attempt to try to exonerate him by saying "b-b-but the guys who dug up the dirt were bad so it doesn't matter". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.63.10.206 (talk) 07:25, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Editors are not truth-finders. We even emphasize that this is not original research, by naming the source of information, saying: "Vox reported that [...]". Polygon, another reliable source, also notes that the sketch caught the attention of 4chan, far-right bloggers and The_Donald subreddit. Do you have knowledge of another take on the subject by a reliable source, or is this your biased opinion as to how the story should be presented? Radiphus (talk) 13:25, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
