Birth Place[edit]

I have recently read in an interview with Andre Adler (former NFL commentator for ESPN Brasil) that he met Shula once, where Shula stated he was born in Hungary and the two had a conversation Hungarian, which Shula spoke fluently. Need Help[edit]

There appears to be a lot of vandalism following the Monday night football game between the Patriots and Ravens (12/3/07). There is alot of stuff added into the text.

I cannot get the page to completely revert back to December 3rd. If anyone can, please do so. You will see all the revisions by unregistered users from 12/4/07 in the history page. SI covers[edit]

Here's the reason I removed the cover from the top of the page:

The fair use rational on the {{magazine}} tag is only for use in discussing the magazine cover or the issue itself, not for describing the subject of the cover (WP:FU#Counterexamples #7).
Since Shula is a living person who still makes public appearances, Wikipedia considers images used under fair use to be replaceable (WP:FUC#1).

I think the Sportsman of the Year cover is notable to remain in the article, but not in the infobox and Sportsman of the Year needs to be discussed. I don't think the Hot/Not cover is notable enough, even with the caption that he "wasn't always popular".--Mosmof 16:21, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that someone else has decided not only to remove the image from here, but the image itself has been removed. I returned the link, so that those familiar with restoring images can fix the problem. Do we restore the Sportsman of the Year version? CodeCarpenter 18:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"The game has passed him by"[edit]

I noted that this quote was recently removed. I think it should remain, since this was a comment specifically about him, echoed in the talk shows and newspapers at the time. Joe Rose in particular built his career on ripping Shula in the early 90s. I will leave it to the group, but if I hear nothing more about it, I will add it back in. That criticism should be in the article, as the accusation was sometimes made, but it has to be put in with a specific citation. A disgruntled ex-employee speaking on a sports talk show is not a reliable source. You're not going to find actual evidence that the game had passed Shula by, you'll just find that the accusation was made. Try Sports Illustrated from around 1986-1988, or South Florida newspaper articles from 1994-1995. Dementia13 (talk) 16:36, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the quote above, Bum Phillips is refering to Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, under whom he was an assistant coach for several years, he was not refering to Don Shula. This is incorrect and should be removed.

Number of Wins?[edit]

At different places in the article, infobox, and table at the bottom, Shula's win totals are given as 347 and 328. I have no idea which is correct. If anyone does have that information and can clear this inconsistency up, please have at it. fourmajorman (talk) 22:15, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

@Zeeboss99: No, because inserted these pictures would be a copyright violation unless they are licenced under a compatible Creative Commons licence. Also, this seems like a way of promoting your website, which Wikipedia is not about.
