suggestions for improvements to the article[edit]

I think Mrs. Son deserves a respectful mention here, perhaps including the anecdote about how she hid him from the troops sent to capture him.

Do people think there should be something about the Black Belt Summer camps 1991-2007?

The only headquarters dojang I am familiar with is the 14th St. one, but I know there were Mercer St. and 5th Ave. location prior to that. Can anyone construct a chronology of WTKDA HQ schools?

Hi Ruben,

Mr. Son would occasionally tell the story of when soldiers were sent to capture him at his home during the Korean War. Mrs. Son hid him in a secret cabinet, in the wall. My recollection of the details is fuzzy, but I think he described the cabinet as being hidden behind wallpaper that was cut with a razor blade. When confronted by the soldiers, who were very menacing with fixed bayonets, Mrs. Son remained calm and gave some story about her husband being away. Mr. Son credited her with saving his life that day.

According to my understanding of the rules of Wikipedia, it is not a place for original or personal contributions of information. Everything should be cited from somewhere else. I do not know of any place where this story is written down.

Hi Peter![edit]

Thanks for writing

Very interesting your anecdote. I am about to add a new section for this Biography, I will try to mention it.

To you, my invisible friend[edit]

Every organization since the world was created has had differences between their members.

Every person may have a different point of view of certain history moments.

I have written this small Biography since “a neutral point of view” in order to keep GM Son memory and legacy.

Any selfish comment against masters' Son memory or against his family will be deleted and considered vandalism.

You should show a little bit of respect. STOP

Wednesday Night Addition[edit]

Hello! I'm not sure who runs this, but I just noticed this "Talk" section after posting the section about Wednesday Night classes. I am a fourth dan under Master Brady (Mid Hudson Tae Kwon Do) and I'm currently taking a class at school that requires I "contribute to public knowledge" in some way, and I thought this would be a good addition; a small section about the tradition of Wednesday Night classes. I hope it is alright that I added it, and if there are any problems, of course feel free to edit or remove. Thank You! 67.189.230.118 (talk) 16:22, 14 April 2015 (UTC)Katie Maus[reply]

Also, Peter, that is really interesting! I've never heard that story before and I agree that Mrs. Son deserves mention whenever Grandmaster's life is discussed!

Wednesday Night Addition[edit]

Hi, I really don't know who looks at this page or who edits the biography. I had added the Wednesday Night section to the biography for a school assignment, but when I looked back now it is gone. I had said to feel free to remove it, in case I inadvertently offended someone or got some fact wrong, which I am fairly certain I shouldn't have, so I would like to know where it went/why it was removed (if I offended someone, got a fact wrong, it was just boring, whatever the reason, to know what to or not to do the next time I want to add to a Wiki). Thanks! Katie Maus 4th Dan Mid Hudson Tae Kwon Do — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:184:C100:D768:9844:9C2D:D7CB:5D85 (talk) 01:50, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Master[edit]

Hello,

Donald Richardson should also be included under the list of Masters that GM Son promoted. I believe that this was done in 1996 or 1997 (I witnessed the test and the awarding personally). The Chung Do Kwan alliance was also formed in 1999 with Ted Hillson, Ron LeBlanc, Don Richardson, and DH Kim from Tucson. That is the forerunner to the current Chung do Kwan USA organization. 4.4.141.194 (talk) 18:58, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
