Ally McBeal was a cult series? I remember it as an extremely popular series that came on right after Melrose Place.

Boyton Beach Club[edit]

My daughter and I just finished watching The Boyton Beach Club. Dyan Cannon made this movie--she was so much fun to watch. At nearly 70, she coveys that beauty and sensuality should not be defined by age. My 22 year old daughter (who is gorgeous herself) said she would not mind looking like Dyan did in the movie right now. As for myself, I was totally inspired and plan to keep up with the current styles, and stay sexy and vibrant like Dyan's character in the movie. Beverly Hills 90210[edit]

I was watching Beverly Hills 90210 this morning and Dyan Cannon has a cameo in the episode "Senior Poll" from the series in 1993. Steve takes a half court shot and Dyan is in the crowd with a toddler in her lap. The camera shows her several times close up and when Steve makes the half court shot and wins he goes around the crowd and shakes her hand. No real place for this in the article.....[edit]

Because Wiki is not a place for gossip/celebrity "junk talk" - but I just saw Dyan on Fox News, and she looks fan-bloody-tastic. Better than when she was on Ally McBeal. I grew up in West Seattle.

1. Her RELIGION should be "Christian," definitely not "Christian Scientist" - this is clear from footnote #1, as well as the comment "Cannon is a devout born again Christian."

2. "Her father was Baptist" is incorrect. He was a member of West Side Presbyterian Church in West Seattle. As a teenager, her father was my Sunday School teacher. We had a barbecue

  at his home at the end of the school year.  (I remember his wife assisting him.)  He left a strong impression on us boys and was one of the best teachers I had.

3. FYI - Her father's second wife (Dyan's stepmother) was a Christian and a member of West Side Presbyterian Church - they attended regularly.

4. FYI - I think her father worked for Franklin Insurance (needs to be confirmed). He gave a savings bank to each boy in our Sunday School class.

Reversion[edit]

An editor had undertaken a major rewrite of this article that introduced a number of grammar errors, created some strange formatting (every sentence was its own paragraph!), and added almost every single Cannon appearance to the narrative of her career. I've restored an older version of the article; it appears most of the edits between then and now were just copyediting of the rewrite. Some of this info can be restored (although maybe in a filmography section), but it needs to stay readable. Grandpallama (talk) 19:59, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

SNL[edit]

Dyan Cannon was the "Guest Host" of Season 1 Episode 20 (May 15, 1976) of SNL, not a guest performer which is an entirely different thing. KaBluie (talk) 02:12, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
