California "Other Highways" Portion[edit]

I found this portion to be completely nonsensical. Can someone fill me in on the meaning of this portion?

"California, Caltrans Ladies' Exit Numbers Clothing is: District 1: Liz Ruhland - January 22, 2013. District 2: Nancy Truong - June 1, 2004. District 3: Nancy Spieker - October 22, 2010. District 4: Melissa Felix - March 17, 2004. District 5: Suzanne Thibault - June 11, 2004. District 6: Taryn Heintz - June 13, 2010. District 7: Heather Edgar - April 22, 2013. District 8: Heather Hamann - April 13, 2009. District 9: Michelle Medeiros - March 24, 2009. District 10: Michelle Gilmore - March 24, 2009. District 11: Leslie Fraser - April 19, 2013. District 12: Monica Shaw - July 2, 2010."

Taconic State Parkway[edit]

The exits on the Taconic north of the Sprain in New York are not *signed* (nor are those on the Sprain for that matter). I understand that some of the exits have D1 or W1 numbering, but those seem to be internal. The approach signs do not have exit tabs, and the gore signs only say EXIT. Please clarify the page if such is not the case. Open the following pictures and zoom in to see what I mean:

Interstate 180 (Illinois)[edit]

Interstate 180 in Illinois does not have exit numbers and would seem to violate the idea that all interstates have exit numbers. Not sure how to write that into article, however.DandyDan2007 11:05, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Neither does I-180 in Wyoming, but that's a special case *heh* - EmiOfBrie 15:07, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I-564 in Norfolk, VA does not have exit numbers, either. Ajfroggie (talk) 02:04, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Johansen Expressway[edit]

The exit numbers are by miles and not sequential. Proof of this is the fact that Pegar Road is at Mile 2 and is Exit 2. Danby and Aroura are two different exits but Danby is 3B and Aurora is 3A and both are at Mile 3. College Road is Exit 4 at Mile 4. I have no idea what the Illinois Road Spur would have been numbered...possibly a variation of 3 (3C-D?) as it would have been just west of Danby Street.

Illinois Tollway Exit Numbers: Where?[edit]

I have no idea where on the Illinois Tollway System there are exit numbers. I heard some speculation that they installed them on I-88, but I have never seen any proof whatsoever. It's probably because I have never been on that road, but I have not seen any pictures.

I-88 does indeed have exit numbers. I don't have any pictures, but I did drive it in March. –Fredddie 21:31, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merging Cal NEXUS to here[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was Merging. --Rschen7754 22:35, 9 June 2011 (UTC) Is numbering the exits in California remarkable enough to warrant its own article? I don't think so. However, I think some of the information in the article is useful enough to be merged into this article. –Fredddie 02:56, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - The history of this program can easily be covered in this article. Dough4872 03:06, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up article[edit]

This article needs some cleaning up. Lots of information repeats and is not in the right section. I moved most references to non-interstates to the “other highways” section, as well as created a new section. Feel free to revise things if you have a better plan.

map mod for RI[edit]

RI completed transition to mileage-based numbering (Nov 2022, as correctly noted in the text of the article) so the map https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:US-Exit-Numbers.svg needs a little update. EllenM4014 (talk) 16:23, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
