Untitled[edit]

I've altered the order of appearance of the soviet republics flags in accord to the time when the capital of the countries (and/or the whole countries) became part of the Muscovy/Russian Empire or Soviet Union:

At the same time, this organization also shows the republics in a logical geographical/ethnic grouping:

Slavic bloc: Ukraine, Belarus

Caucasian bloc: Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia

Central Asian bloc: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan

Baltic bloc: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania

Eastern European bloc: Moldova

Order of Soviet COAs and flags[edit]

Hi Explendido,

Could you explain more about the reason why ("Constitutional order") you have changed the display order of the coats of arms and flags of Soviet Union?

Karelia[edit]

Why isn't Karelia on this page? It was a republic from the 40s to the 60s. Dahn 19:31, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Recently created user:Pianist ru (either an SPA or a sockpuppet) has been going through and deleting only Abkhazia from articles and templates without discussion or rationale. I have reverted all such edits as POV vandalism until a valid rationale is put forth by Pianist ru. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 16:48, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kyrgyzstan and Tajikstan flags today[edit]

The article claimed:

Today, the only former Soviet Union territories that use modified versions of their original Soviet flag are the republic of Transnistria [...], Belarus (since 1995), Kyrgyzstan (since 1992, maintains the red background with the blue and white stripes removed) and Tajikstan (since 1992, using the same colours with different design.)

I think this is misleading. The only similarity between current Kyrgyz flag and the flag of the Kirghiz SSR is the red background - flags are totally different. The only connection between current Tajik flag and the flag of the Tajik SSR is the usage of red, white and green colors, but the flags are again totally different. Thus, I removed mentions of Kyrgyz and Tajik flags from this section. Vanjagenije (talk) 19:27, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
