Don't confuse Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry with his son, Captain Matthew Calbraith Perry![edit]

Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry (1794-1858) had a son of the same name, Captain Matthew Calbraith Perry (1821-1873). So, Frederick Rodgers was a grandson of U.S. Navy Commo. M. C. Perry and a nephew of Capt. M. C. Perry. Rodgers' mother, the former Sarah Perry (1818–1905) vas a daughter of Commo. Perry and a sister of Capt. Perry.
