I am a frequent editor of articles about the Philippines -- mainly re the period c. 1896—1916. I have no academic credentials but, having lived in the Philippines for a couple of decades, I do have some interest and I've done a lot of reading. Aside from that, in making a couple of edits today to articles outside of this time period ([1], [2]), I noticed that the history of the Philippines during the early WW-II period appears to be sparsely and spottily covered in Wikipedia except as a sidelight in US-centric articles (e.g., Douglas MacArthur's escape from the Philippines, Wendell Fertig -- those examples were pretty randomly chosen). The Commonwealth of the Philippines article barely mentions the Quezon's evacuation or the commonwealth's government in exile either in the lead or in the World War II section, and the Military history of the Philippines during World War II article is very US-centric. Perhaps there is more coverage of this from the Philippine perspective in Wikipedia than I have seen. If so, it ought to be easier to find. If coverage is as sparse as it seems to me, some detail articles ought to be written and WP:SS wikilinked (from, for example, List of governments in exile during World War II). At a minimum, that Commonwealth of the Philippines article ought to have a section about the WW-II government in exile which can be linked directly from that List of article until a {{main article}} giving that topic proper coverage is written. I have created Draft:Government in exile of the Commonwealth of the Philippines. Currently, this only contains the barest of a barebones article skeleton. I intend to flesh out these bones as I have time and, presuming that this develops into something usable, at some future time to move this into mainspace as a new article and/or to redo some portion of it as a section in the Commonwealth of the Philippines article. I've created the skeleton of a article draft, put a bit of flesh on its bare bones, and dug up a number of what look like relevant sources. What I've done ought to serve as a starting point but it needs review and, probably, major revision. It also needs much expansion, as what I've done doesn't really touch what ought to be the meat of the article. I am spending more time than I can afford on this, and I'll try to do less and hope that other editors who know more about this topic than I can pick up the ball and run with it. Article published[edit]

I have moved this article and its talk page from the Draft namespace into (Article) mainspace. It still needs expansion, cleanup, and polishing (lots of polishing -- I'm not much of a wordsmith).
