News sources are plentiful[edit]

Google News returned 93 stories for me mentioning this movie, including the title of the film, the name of the director, the fact that Wood and Williams are in it, the fact that Murphy would have been in it, etc. The page just needs citations added. Blanking the article is vandalism. Help improve it rather than vandalise it please.142.68.47.197 (talk) 02:29, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Then actually add sourced content rather than adding made up rumors, and do not call article clean up vandalism. Further, don't add that convoluted ass "infobox" back, as it is not a valid infobox for any use anywhere. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 02:48, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I did not add the information, I merely restored it after you deleted it. If you question the information in the article, then you can tag it as needing citation and give time for sources to be provided. This is common practice on Wikipedia articles. But blanking the page of all information is vandalism, and should not be done. I found sources easily for a couple of the piesed of information you just deleted. 142.68.47.197 (talk) 02:54, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, if the infobox is incorrectly constructed, it is better to replace it with a properly constructed on than to just eliminate it entirely. I don't know how to format one, but I think you do. Please try to improve articles when possible rather than just erasing from them. 142.68.47.197 (talk) 02:56, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, the blanking of bad content is NOT vandalism, it was cleaning up of the article to remove a bunch of self-proclaimed rumors and a seriously screwed up infoboxes. You found a source and added it. That was all. If there are other sources, keeping in mind that Wikipedia is NOT a fan rumor mill and that sources must actually be reliable. Further, take five minutes to get off your high horse and go read WP:NFF before proclaiming that the sources mean the article should not be deleted. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 02:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Technically, the rumor that was posted on the page is actually pretty well substantiated, as far as the subplot's presence in the first film went - concept artists who'd worked on the film, like Daniel Woodland and Marco Nero among others, have bits and pieces from these scenes scattered all over their respective websites, and there's been a relatively recent - though minor, to be certain - pull to have these pieces reinstated back into the film at some point, and so on. It seems a little funny that you guys are cracking down on the presence of a rumor for this particular article, though. I mean, that kind of thing seems like pretty common practice for wiki-articles on upcoming films, although I do agree that this in particular should be a part of the article on the first film, as I haven't really come across anything to support its presence in this second movie. Now, what's all this about the infobox being screwed up, and all of this?
Also, someone should edit the infobox and etc., now that Brad Pitt and Matt Damon have been confirmed to be voicing characters in the film. Just FYI —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.89.160.252 (talk) 03:46, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brittany Murphy Fired[edit]

Just two weeks before she died, the "Happy Feet" star told Access Hollywood she was excited to begin production on the animated hit film's sequel, but Simon broke news, claiming she was actually fired from the film the week before her death - a turn of events that might have contributed to her death.

According to cast members, Brittany Murphy was never fired from reprising her role as Gloria in Happy Feet 2. I know that at this point I do not have anything published yet as reference, that's why I'm adding this to the discussion page. Alecia Beth Moore is the new voice of Gloria in Happy Feet 2. Please note that he means the new singing voice, Tastes Like lead contacted one of the actors, and he told him that Pink recorded the singing voice of Gloria, but they never mentioned Anna Faris as a speaking voice, even though three confirmed that. See Talk:Happy Feet 2#Edit Request from 71.97.190.192 (talk) 13:24, 27 July 2010 (UTC) to see the sources.--71.97.190.192 (talk) 22:02, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Plot[edit]

The section really should be named like that? Because that is no a plot. TbhotchTalk C. 04:53, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request from 71.97.190.192 (talk) 13:24, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[edit]

I've noticed that people have always been adding Anna Faris as Gloria to the page without a reference. Well, I do have a reference for that.

Here

Its all the way at the bottom of the page but it cleary states that Anna Faris is confirmed to voice Gloria in Happy Feet 2.--71.97.190.192 (talk) 13:24, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Not protected. SpigotMap 19:40, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, but still, dosen't that seem like enough confirmation to put that inserting false information bit to rest, I'm sick of seeing something put on there that's supposped to be true, then it gets removed. This reference is going to stop that, I just put there so someone would review this. I removed it.--71.97.190.192 (talk) 20:15, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is not a credible source. Even IMDB is plagued with false informations. It is better to hold off posting the info until it is 100% confirmed. I talked to "the Amigos" and Anna Faris was not who recorded the voices for Gloria in early 2010. Since I received the info verbally, I cannot publish it here on Wikipedia. In addition to that, the "source" you've given is filled with a lot of spammy contents. Tastes like lead (talk) 11:41, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What about these?

You'll have to read through it, but also states this.--71.97.190.192 (talk) 12:13, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Still not credible sources. www.tonight.co.za just rehashed the content from myviewsandreviews. Buzzytimes content is a copied from Wikipedia page. Both are not valid and credible sources. As of now, there is no official confirmations on who is taking the voice duty for Gloria. The Cast did not mention Anna Faris as Gloria. As of February 2010 recording session in Australia, another person was recording Gloria's singing parts.

All you have to do is wait until a valid+credible source confirm this. IMDB should not be used for an ongoing project since users can make changes on the entries. At this point it is still a rumor Tastes like lead (talk) 11:29, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You said that someone else is doing the voice for Gloria, do you know who it is? I've been wanting to know ever since Brittany Murphy wasn't going to be in it.--71.97.190.192 (talk) 17:29, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I posted it above. During the February 2010 recording session Alecia Beth Moore (Pink) was recording the voice for Gloria. Even though she was recording the lines, there are still no official announcement; so it is still possible for other voice actor to take over. Pink seemed to have recorded the singing part for Gloria. It is not a hearsay, I received the informations straight from the other voice actors. I do not have audio or video clip of them saying that, that's why I refrain from posting it on the article itself. Hope that clears it up. Tastes like lead (talk) 23:30, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More news[edit]

I just did a google search and found this site. I know it's not much, but it says this:

George Miller couldn't show any clips from Animal Logic's Happy Feet 2, but revealed that Pink would compose "epic" songs for the film and Matt Damon and Brad Pitt would voice "tiny krill".

So can someone add:

Brad Pitt ... Krill #1 Matt Damon ... Krill #2

Also it says Pink will do the music in the movie (and maybe Gloria's singing voice) in Happy Feet 2. I'd tell where to put it, but I'm not sure.71.97.190.192 (talk) 21:04, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone make this so the references have the proper templates?--71.97.190.192 (talk) 12:13, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. http://www.tonight.co.za/ is not a credible source for this matter. As I have said before, do not include anything on Wikipedia until it is confirmed. Anyone can write anything but it doesn't make it true. Please stop the Anna Faris as Gloria for now.Tastes like lead (talk) 10:48, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What about the other stuff I had on there?71.97.190.192 (talk) 00:12, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's all in the history, we'll get back to it when we can properly include the info.Tastes like lead (talk) 23:37, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. You know I've heard this movie is done filming, if that's true, why can't it be released earlier? Possibly this year.--71.97.190.192 (talk) 00:13, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is a computer generated movie. Even if all the voices are recorded, most times the Director might want to re-record lines or the singing part. In addition to that, this movie will also be presented in 3D. Providing that hthey are doing it the right way, it will take longer to get it ready for release.Tastes like lead (talk) 09:41, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-Protection?[edit]

Numerous unregistered contributors keep replacing Pink with Anna Faris with no valid sources. I'm starting think that this should be semi-protected so all edits by users with no accounts edits' have to screened by someone with an account. I come to wikipedia to find information about movies, not to remove false information.--71.97.187.209 (talk) 11:38, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From what I'm seeing, I don't think it's reached the level that will result in semi-protection. That said, looking at the Is involved seems to indicate it's one user. So, I've added a warning on the main IP involved (see [3]). Generally, we avoid protecting an article until 1) other approaches, such as warning the editor, have failed and 2) the edits are frequent. - SummerPhD (talk) 12:44, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I checked the history, the editors doing it were 90.197.218.235 and 86.17.33.124.--71.97.187.209 (talk) 17:40, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I could have sworn that I saw the release date was November 17th a few days ago. Now it says November 18th. Did they move it back or did I just not remember the date right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.212.98.238 (talk) 23:03, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
