The result of the move request was: page moved. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 16:31, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Xiren (character)Hua Xiren — There exists a pointless redirect page for this character from the Chinese Novel Dream of the Red Chamber that includes Hua, her Chinese family name. "Xiren" can refer to different people in China's history. I'd like to move the character page to replace the unnecessary redirect "Hua" page. Thank you.--Catch153 (talk) 12:57, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment what is this article about? It has absolutely no information about what it is about, just some in-universe plot. 70.29.210.72 (talk) 02:01, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hua XirenXiren – Per WP:COMMONNAME, Xiren should be the page name. See Qiongying for a similar page. Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 11:00, 12 March 2013 (UTC) Relisted. BDD (talk) 17:40, 21 February 2013 (UTC) Kayau (talk · contribs) 16:09, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose It should redirect to Bao Zheng, whose courtesy name was Xiren. Also may other uses: [[1]] -- 70.24.246.233 (talk) 05:38, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Bao Zheng is usually known Bao Zheng or 包公, not as Xiren, but Hua Xiren is usually known as Xiren. It would be more feasible to move this page to Xiren and put {{about|the fictional character|the judge|Bao Zheng}} on the top of this page, IMHO. 12:35, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Support - 70.24.246.233, the difference is that "of Xiren" "to Xiren" "Xiren is" "Xiren was" always refers to the maid. The judge isn't referred to by his courtesy name and a hatnote will suffice. Good call Kayau. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:32, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Relisting commment. Giving it one more spin, but if there's no more participation it looks like a no consensus to me. Jenks24 (talk) 11:00, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. There are lots of people and things named "Xiren." I don't think this character can be considered primary topic. If you google Xiren -wikipedia, almost all the hits refer to an Irish musician. For people's names, the short form is always more common. But that doesn't mean we shorten them all. See WP:NCP#Single_name. I came up with 53 GBook hits for Baoyu "Hua Xiren" -llc. Her name is a pun for huā qìxírén / "smell of a flower", which you miss if you shorten it.
