Fair use rationale for Image:JIPacker.jpg[edit]

Image:JIPacker.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

The referenced article http://www.monergism.com/thethreshold/articles/bio/jipacker.html cites Wikipedia as it's source, not the other way around. [1]Talk

I took that citation to apply only to the sentence about him being at work on a systematic theology. Otherwise, why doesn't it appear at the end of the whole article rather than just that paragraph? Link to ESV Interview[edit]

There's no interview at the link. Packer seems to have been the general editor of the ESV but there's nothing that I can find specifically at the website about his work. Suspicious sentence in article over Packer's view on evolution[edit]

I'm concerned about the phrase 'However this endorsement should be taken with caution as endorsements are sometimes issued without the contents of the book having been thoroughly read by the endorser.[8]' in the article. Packer describes the book as 'Surely the best informed, clearest and most judicious treatment of the question in its title that you can find anywhere today.' yet the author of this comment would have us believe that one of the most highly respected Oxbridge educated theologians of the Evangelical world doesn't know what position the book has yet made that statement about it? That seems unlikely. The reference used to support this statement ([8]) although it mentions another situation where someone questions whether Packer knew what he was endorsing, provides no evidence at all that he did not know what he was endorsing, the post only quotes a blogger who wonders if he really did. Given that there is no reason to suspect that Packer did not know the position of the book when he endorsed it, and as the link actually provides no support for that position at all (other than unsupported speculation by a blogger) I suggest that the sentence "However this endorsement should be taken with caution as endorsements are sometimes issued without the contents of the book having been thoroughly read by the endorser.[8]" is removed from the article. --RobHu —Preceding unsigned comment added by Robhu (talk • contribs) 17:54, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I happen to be at the same church as Denis Alexander (who wrote Creation or Evolution: Do we have to choose? So I mentioned this to him and he told me that the publisher actually faxed the entire book over to Packer and Alexander knows that he read it (or at least substantial parts of it) before writing an acknowledgement. This is original research and violation of Wikipedia policy: Wikipedia:No_original_research. While I think the post might be poor wording, we can not take action based upon things that are not verifiable. Yet again a Wikipedia policy: Wikipedia:Verifiability. Sources needed[edit]

@Sunshineisles2:, I noticed that you put up a banner that more sources are needed. What info needs to be sourced? I went through and sourced all the prose earlier today, but maybe I missed something.
