The name[edit]

Mind showing where it came from? :) I didn't see the rider's human name on the Japanese wiki and I haven't seen it on any of the Japanese boards. Yaguruma 10:43, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check the Japanese Wiki again, its under user qualification, but its hidden. View source, and then you'll see it. Floria L 21:43, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jun Matsumoto[edit]

Where did that name come from? As far as I know, he's busy filming Hana Yori Dango 2. Yaguruma 23:34, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Momotaros[edit]

Since he seems to be a main character and have a pretty big role, should we make a full page for him? I'm pretty sure it'll end up having more than enough material. Yaguruma 04:58, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We'll have to see. Considering that there will be 4 at least Imajin that bond with Nogami, maybe it would be better just to have sections in there respective character lists. Unless of course, the information is overwhelming. Floria L 10:49, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, from all the info we've been given about them possessing Nogami, it does seem like they'll have more info than the executive Worms to say the least.Yaguruma 14:42, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Since he posses Nogami and takes over, that time period should still be set aside onto Den-O's page under Nogami's biography section. His section will contain traces of that, but only major actions that he himself performs should be added. Such as giving Nogami the Rider Ticket, fighting the Bat Imajin, and such. Floria L 16:52, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Character Page[edit]

Its obvious we will need a character page soon for them, but how would we go about splitting them into sections? Kabuto had a nice line of non-organization, ZECT, etc. Floria L 20:59, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe "Civilians" and "DenLiner Crew Members"? At the moment, that's really the only way we can distinguish the two. Yaguruma 07:14, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The series aired so change it up a bit.74.195.3.199 10:25, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The layout we have now is fine. Floria L 14:07, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moving the page[edit]

Since we're going by official spellings from now on, shouldn't this page be moved to "Masked Rider Den-O"?. Yaguruma 07:10, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't that be a bit extreme? Lets just keep to current standards, and leave Kamen untranslated. Its not a matter of official spelling, as Kamen and Masked are pretty much the same thing. Floria L 10:13, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really see how it would be extreme. I find it rather hypocritical that we're moving some pages based on official spellings(Imagin, which I still believe should be Imajin since 'jin' is a suffix for race) and not others. If we move some pages based on those spellings, we should move them all, if not, none of them should be moved. Yaguruma 15:53, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Its a bit different here. We adhered to the Imagin spelling because of what the webbie said, and they pretty much sound the same. No room for debate there. Kamen on the other hand... The Kanji used to write Kamen is pronounced Kamen. Not masked. Since they don't really sound the same at all, there's no need to move it based on spelling, as a translators note has been left at the beginning of each article.
Again, it's not that different. Take the Boukenger article for instance, when they had the "GouGou" "GoGo" debacle, it was solved based on official spellings. We have an official English spelling here and it's "Masked Rider". It's what the toys refer to Den-O himself as and even what the website refers to him as, as stated by "Masked Rider Den-O" on the logo. If I recall correctly, we went for "den-o" instead of "Den'Ou" solely based on the logo, we shouldn't just half ass it. The translator's note at the beginning would just need to be flipped because really, the current Nihongo tag there isn't being used right. It should be English (Kanji, Romaji) and not Romaji (Kanji, Romaji) Yaguruma 20:45, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then why not translate everything into english for the first bracket. It would make sense. Kamen - Masked, GoGo - Rumbling, Sentai - Taskforce. No half-ass jobs. Floria L 21:10, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, I don't think Masked Rider Den-O is better than Kamen Rider Den-O. If we were to translate every japanese title to english, then some titles would be very awkward. Like say Utawarerumono, try translating that and making it sound good. Or even Yu-Gi-Oh, an anime that most people know of. You could translate that to Game King, but it doesn't really work that way. Also, all the previous Kamen Riders have been named Kamen Rider. And as the original name is in japanse, and not english, I don't think it should really change. Just my thoughts. Personajxt 09:30, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That and the series is prominently known in the English (and Portuguese, French, Spanish, etc) speaking world as "Kamen Rider." Of course, sticking with the English spellings will also produce titles such as Masked Rider AgitΩ, Masked Rider Ryuki, Masked Rider Φ's, Masked Rider ♠, etc. and several will still be a mix of English and Japanese (Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, and Den-O don't seem to get translated, nor would Hibiki or Kabuto). Most of the articles in all of Category:Tokusatsu are a mish-mash of Romaji names. Right now, it seems that the Kamen Rider articles would be the only ones affected by this, as I've found the Toei/tv asahi DVD covers that use "Mahou Sentai Magiranger" and "GoGo Sentai Boukenger" written out in roman letters. Whereas with the Kamen Rider series, in English, it's written in English. But, again, this discussion is probably better at WT:TOKURyūlóng (竜龍) 21:40, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

alumni[edit]

Would anyone mind if a tokusatsu alummi section was added? Kabuto has one and by episode 3, Den-O already has two former toku actors. Yaguruma 13:13, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Was just thinking about that, go ahead. Keep it in a chart at best. Floria L 19:43, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Issei[edit]

Could we keep to using Waporo for these macronated names. Waporo out, hepburn in, thats usually what preceding articles have gone with. Waporo out gives distinction to the correct pronunciation, and hepburn in keeps it technical. Floria L 15:42, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kill that, Ryu's right. Macrons are indeed better, so I've gone through and changed them all, besides Ryotaro, seeing as we have an official spelling for that. I might have missed some, so feel free to correct. Floria L 00:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suit actors?[edit]

Nothing about the people behind the costumes? 121.6.118.119 16:12, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you know anything, feel free to add. Floria L 16:16, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found this on Den-o's Japanese wiki page on the suit actors:

スーツアクター

  * 仮面ライダー電王、モモタロス:高岩成二
  * ウラタロス:大岩永徳

I can only read kana, so I would appreciate if someone with more knowledge of Japanese help out with their names. Jutari 11:14, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The suit actor for Den-o/Momo is Takaiwa Seiji. He also did several past Riders in previous years. 203.78.9.150 03:58, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to click their names to find out their pronunciation from the kana, silly me.

I added Takaiwa Seiji to the cast list. His Japanese wiki-page was pretty impressive. At least 5 sentai and all the main Riders from Agito to Den-o, with the exception of Hibiki.高岩 成二 And Urataros is Ooiwa Hisanori 大岩永徳Jutari 07:53, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Music theme[edit]

Would it be a good idea to put it into a table? Even then, should we use the under developed anime music template box? It lacks several parameters that are necessary when crediting music, and is also unable to pass nihongo parameters through certain fields. Got solutions? Floria L 19:50, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Create a new table? I'm not exactly sure how to do that though, but if it can be done, that would be better I suppose. Yaguruma 20:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ishinomori Shotaro?[edit]

I was intruiged that this show is credited as created by Shotaro-sensei. Didn't he died in '98 and the last Rider he created was Kamen Raida Black and RX? I think it's more on "Concept By", and not "Created By". At least that's what I understood. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Linkinstreet (talkcontribs) 13:55, 23 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

It's still technically his creation. No one else can "create" Kamen Rider. They just build off on his concept.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:48, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rider Pass article[edit]

Would it not be better to make a Rider Pass article and link to the various Kamen Rider articles from there? Somewhat like the characters page does with the four main Imagin. It'll probably cut down on clutter. Yaguruma 01:59, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Something like the Zecters article? Probably should wait until it actually builds up to something. Floria L 02:52, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I just think it looks kinda cluttered right now. But when there's more info about the other types of Rider Pass systems, maybe we can make it then. Yaguruma 04:13, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Or... We could rewrite what we have now to make it less cluttered.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:15, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The thing is a lot of that info is use3ful, so it probably merits its own article. Yaguruma 15:30, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Movie[edit]

Alright, obviously there are bountiful amounts of movie information. My feeling is, they should be seperate into a movie independent article, just like we did for God Speed Love. It shouldn't interfere with the series in any way unless the forms do eventually show up in the series. The articles, are, after all, only meant for the TV series. Floria L 23:12, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Things in the movies tend to show up in the series. The Hyper Zecter, Blaster Form, etc. Right now, we have information on Wing Form and Climax Form; and Climax will be showing up, but it's important to make note of these things now, and then incorporate them when we get a title and whatnot later.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 23:56, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
True, the stuff that indeed shows up in the series will be integrated into the tv articles. However, we shouldn't overload the tv articles with movie information at this point until a movie article can be created. Floria L 09:19, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right now, the only such page that this is an issue at is Kamen Rider Den-O (character) (unless I'm missing something). We should hold off on creating an article for the movie until we have an actual title ("Theater Edition" isn't the title; it's just a promotional thing, as it uses the kanji for "geki").—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 09:29, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

other music[edit]

Should we add listing for the insert song and OSTs? Or maybe it would be better to make a Den-O discography page? Yaguruma 04:35, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We actually have names for some of the insert songs?—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:38, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The OSTs lists the climax jump remix as Climax Jump(Hiphop Ver.), and I guess for a discography page, the tracks for each OST could be listed, I've seen that on various articles for anime OSTs. Yaguruma 05:06, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That could get a bit touchy with the WP:NONFREE stuff going on at the moment.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 05:13, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then for now I guess we could just place the CJ hip hop version as an insert song. Yaguruma 19:55, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I've made a mention of it within the article.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 20:32, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Old rumor, just need a place to save this information[edit]

Hi-O (飛王, Hiō)Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:11, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Den-O's popularity[edit]

Den-O has been geting ALOT of homeages in anime. Seen in Keroro Gunso's 169th episode, the 16th episode of Hayate no Gotoku, and a upcoming episode of Crayon Shin-chan Fractyl 00:08, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't really something we can source/write about.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 00:23, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Had you checked the pix? I doubt mentioning it would be a issue.Fractyl 14:36, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Pictures...aren't really decent sources.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:06, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe but ,as seen on Hayate no Gotoku, that are still sources. Fractyl 22:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Den-O Toy-line for Winter[edit]

Dukemon uncovered the new toyline, with the final form for Den-O revealed.

  • Den-O Liner Form (October)
    • Denkamen Sword: Heavy Rotation Blade used by Liner Form (October)
  • Zeronos Zero Form (November)
    • Denebic Buster: Connection Arms (October)
  • KingLiner: (November)

Fractyl 22:38, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Right now, Liner Form is all that's confirmed.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:57, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hence why I added it. So far, it seems the Imagin pull a "Oversoul"(Shaman King) and become the weapons used by the two new forms. Fractyl 23:08, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

These have appeared on Futaba, no accompanying scans, yet.

  • Multiple Rotation Sword DX DenKameSwordDen Kamen (Electric Mask?) Sword (重回転剣 DXデンカメンソード 10月, Jūkaiten Ken DX Den Kamen Sōdo)
  • Super Combination Armament DX DenBikkuBusterDenebic Buster (超連結武装 DXデネビックバスター 11月, Chōrenketsu Busō DX Denebikku Basutā)

Ryūlóng (竜龍) 02:58, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 37[edit]

Judging from the episode, shouldn't the line "俺、そういう顔してるだろ?, Ore, Sōiu Kao Shiterudaro??" mean something like "Do I look as if I'm thinking/feeling *insert expression*", rather than "You Remember My Face, Right?". Kai asked Ryutaros that same line in Episode 37 and I'm pretty sure what he meant was "Do I look as if I'm sad" rather than "You remember my face, right". This line may have different contexts, but I'm quite sure he was asking if he looked sad. Joppyhoppy 13:18, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drama Cast[edit]

Is the section about the members of the cast who were in a drama before Den-O really necessary? It seems pointless and irrelevant, and it clearly was not added by one of the main editors. (Yes, I know nobody owns the article, but there's no denying that most articles have a group of people who do most of the work on it) Phi Chi Delta (talk) 21:01, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is a short list of actors who appeared in other tokusatsu shows as main characters instead of the full list of guest actors that show up in the Japanese articles. It was there to begin with until it was shortened and then expanded, and then shortened again to what it is currently. Only actors who have been in other tokusatsu programs are listed on the guest cast lists, instead of the guest members of each two episode arc.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:19, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, the stuff about both Takeru Satoh and Yuichi Nakamura in Princess Princess D. That is useless and was added by an IP.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 03:08, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sorry for the confusion, I wasn't referring to the list of prominent guest stars, because I agree, that's a very important and useful part of the article. But in any case, it's been dealt with. Phi Chi Delta (talk) 21:11, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Honda/Denbird[edit]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since Honda is always sponsoring every Kamen Rider Series, then it's true the DenBird is a (one-off) Honda? Ryou-kun16 (talk) 04:27, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is that entirely necessary for knowledge of the subject at hand?—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:52, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is, my good sir. Ryou-kun16 (talk) 14:14, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, not really. That information is too trivial to bother putting in any KR articles, and these talk pages are only for discussion on improving said articles, not general talk. Arrowned (talk) 19:03, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Climax Deka[edit]

It's clear that there are three evil Imagin that survived the series. One of them being ANOTHER rabbit-themed Imagin and the other a clown. Fractyl (talk) 00:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Popularity section[edit]

Maybe one should be made? I know it may seem a bit ORish, but there's no denying that with all the extra CDs and a second movie, Den-O was definitely more popular than most other series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.222.136.189 (talk) 19:27, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Super Den-O Villians[edit]

It seems the legend basis of the Oni Rider brothers are Kinkaku and Ginkaku from Saiyuki.Fractyl (talk) 08:53, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We don't know any of this nor is it relevant to the discussion of this article's improvement.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 09:14, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gintama Parody[edit]

One Gintama parody is missing. Episode 89 when Okita's eyes flash purple during his "Sadist Mode Change". The parody was in the translation notes, but I'm not sure how to reference it in the article since I haven't watched Kamen Rider Den-O. Dantman (talk) 09:17, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All of the instances are not important.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 09:48, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
