Fair use rationale for Image:KathyGarver.jpg[edit]

Image:KathyGarver.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Date of birth[edit]

I have reverted addition of a date of birth. No citation was provided, but the edit summary said, "Added her birthdate. Source is the California Birth Index, & IMDb."

Unfortunaetly, neither of those sources is acceptable for use in this article.

  • California Birth Index is excluded because WP:BLPPRIMARY specifies, ""Do not use trial transcripts and other court records, or other public documents, to support assertions about a living person. Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, ..."
  • IMDb is WP:USERGENERATED and therefore is not considered reliable. (Also see WP:IMDB.) Eddie Blick (talk) 18:45, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth (again)[edit]

I have reverted addition of a date of birth that was unsourced. The edit summary that accompanied the addition said, "Actually, Kathy's birth date is shown in Google". However, Google itself is not a source. We need to know the source (web site, book, newspaper, etc.) in or on which Google found the date. Then we have to decide whether that source is valid for use in a Wikipedia article.

Also, the source must be cited with the date in the article. Mentioning it in an edit summary is not sufficient. Eddie Blick (talk) 02:36, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
