Style of page[edit]

However, the article upon which the format of this article was based (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_Army_Regiments) appears to have been created and styled mostly by yourself. In addition, that alone does not constitute the correct format.

For instance, List of United States Marine Corps regiments lists the Regiments in a logical numerical/alphabetical order, with no special preference given to combat-specific formations.

Why exactly are non-combat units unworthy of being listed? I was under the impression that the point of this page was to list as many known Regiments of the Australian Army as possible, not list only combat specific Regiments and Corps (which isn't necessary, given the page thats purpose is to list them). If that's what you want, you may as well create a page named "List of Australian Army Combat Regiments" (in which case, Artillery and Combat Engineer Regiments would be listed, seeing as the Department of Defence dubs them to be "direct-combat" jobs)

Support Arms[edit]

You show RAA and RAE and Aviation as Support Arms.RAAC, RAA, RAE and RA Inf have always been the Arms Corps, Aviation has recently been added mainly due to the new Attack helicopters.

Negative, the Royal Australian Artillery Corps has always been an Arms/Combat Corps. http://www.defencejobs.gov.au/default.asp?initMedia=1&media=flash&bounceBack=/default.asp&p=824 Above link states that the 'Gun Number' job is a direct combat role and not open for females. In addition, it states that females may serve in direct combat units in 'combat support positions'.

This article is titled 'List of Australian Army Regiments'. There is no need to list the Corps here, as there is already an article for that. Futhermore, there are no conventions or rules stating that only combat regiments need to be listed here or given priority. As such, I've listed all the regiments I could find on the Structure -> Units page of the official Army website.

University Regiments[edit]

During my time in the Adelaide University Regiment we were part of RA Inf. Do the university regiments still exist? Ozdaren 13:30, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Late response, but anyway... from what I gather, the university regiments still exist to train reserve officers. Officer cadets in said regiments are in the Corps of Staff Cadets. Vietbong 02:23, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
