Alumni notability[edit]

Wikipedia is a forum to promote educated discussions on the notability of subjects. Inclusions of names onto this list or any other list/article will be based on notability based on press articles/coverage, contributions to society, and other personal/public efforts. This is not a vanity project and therefore if one writes one book, poem, a news article, MySpace page, etc., it does not make them notable. Any names added to this list must demonstrate that the subject has referenced sources to validate claims

References[edit]

(1) As a former alum and publication editor at Rollins, printed material can be utilized as references on this site if you provide exact information such as ISBN (if applicable), author, page number, etc. I attended and personally knew these grads from my years of active journalism on campus. As long as printed material can be cited, there shouldn't be no problems in citing information. (2) Why are you editing with an anonymous account? With so many edits and your so-called knowledge of site terms, why haven't you regsitered and become a member of the Wikipedia community?--XLR8TION (talk) 02:36, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Description[edit]

Please be aware that this site caters to an international crowd. Many foreigners (from outside of the U.S.) might not realized what type of work(s) an actor/actress might have starred in, therefore, please keep these types in the description. As many television classics and books are made into feature films such as the "Beverly Hiillbillies" and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," a franchise can take up many forms in Hollywood. I have reverted edits that removed these descriptions. --XLR8TION (talk) 07:13, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request to explain edit[edit]

Hello, XLR8TION. Please explain your recent two edits, which delete a notable alumni. Your note does not explain your action, in that a notable individual with more than 50 published writing credits, etc. probably is more "notable" than the New York male escort without a Wikipedia article, that you recently added. Gulbenk (talk) 13:45, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, XLR8TION. I would like to hear your reasoning, regarding your two recent deletions of the notable alumni I added to this list. Specifically, I would be interested in the metric you apply when determining the difference between a "vanity" article and a legitimate biography. So please let us all know. Otherwise, I will (once again) add the notable alumni back to this list. To persist with your pattern of deletions, after that, can only be interpreted as an edit war, which will have to be referred for review through formal proceedings.Gulbenk (talk) 15:07, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
